Job Description

Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to work at a correctional facility in Black Mountain, North Carolina. This is a registry position with our company.






36hrs Travel Package

Weekly Gross Pay = $540

Local Hourly Rate (Taxable) = $15

Weekly Travel Stipend Non-Taxed- goes to the net pay = $1001 (Hotel-616 Meals-385)



Total Weekly ($1001 is not taxed)= $1541

Feels like per hour = $42.81

$1541 div 36 hours = $42.81





Shifts Available:


  • 0700-1930


Minimum Qualifications:


  • At least one year (12 months) of previous working experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse

  • Must have up to date credentials in the state of North Carolina

  • A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)

  • Ability to build rapport with patients

  • Compassionate and caring demeanor

  • Familiarity with medical terminology

  • Qualified for travel rate if permanent residence is 50+ miles away


Job Responsibilities:


  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. Perform routine patient assessments and document findings accurately.

  • Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and maintain proper documentation of medication administration.

  • Regularly monitor and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, and respiration rate.

  • Assist with wound care, dressings, and rehabilitation procedures.

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information, progress, and assessments using electronic medical records (EMR) or other designated systems.

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, registered nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.

  • Educate patients and their families about healthcare procedures, medications, and post-treatment care instructions to promote effective self-management and recovery.

  • Follow established infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe disposal of medical waste.

  • Act swiftly and effectively during emergencies, implementing appropriate nursing intervention and alerting the appropriate personnel as necessary.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to best practices, policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintains compliance and complies with annual requirements

  • Successfully completes required employment-related documentation, testing, and screenings in a timely manner
