Staff Today is currently seeking Psych/MH APRNs to work at a facility in Hawaii (Oahu). Full-Time Psych-MH APRN for Island of Oahu with flexibility to report to any of our four facilities (HCF, OCCC, WCCC, WCF). These are registry positions with our company.



Pay Rate: $71 / hour

Schedule details:




  • Part-time or full-time

  • Must be able to commit to at least a 3 month assignment

  • Full-Time Psych-MH APRN for Island of Oahu with flexibility to report to any of our four facilities (HCF, OCCC, WCCC, WCF). 



Duties include but are not limited to:




  • Assess, diagnose and treat the mental health needs of patients.

  • Administer screening instruments and conduct semi-structured intake interviews to assess all detainees/inmates for acute and/or persistent mental health needs.

  • Provide MH sick call to assess the mental health needs of detainees/inmates, triage requests for mental health services, and refer detainees/inmates to qualified health care providers as clinically indicated. Non-emergency requests for mental health services may be initiated by detainees/inmates, as well as by mental health, medical, security, and other facility staff.

  • Monitor the mental and behavioral status of detainees/inmates housed in the Special Holding Unit (if applicable) and those detainees/inmates on watch status (i.e., suicide watch, safety watch, Structured Living Unit).

  • Documentation of completion of segregation rounds and any observed and/or reported deterioration of a detainee's mental health condition. Refer detainees/inmates for any deterioration in mental health status to appropriate qualified healthcare professionals. This position is expected to communicate and collaborate effectively with members of the health care unit, and the mental health team (when staffed) as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team in order to provide appropriate treatment planning and step-down plans for detainees/inmates.

  • Obtain and review medical, mental health, and institutional records of detainees/inmates.

  • Assist with various mental health clinics with 704 evaluators or psychiatrists.



Minimum requirements:




  • At least one (1) year of APRN experience

  • At least one (1) year of direct patient care experience

  • Psych/Mental Health APRN/NP certification required

  • A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)
