Job Description

Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a ASL Educational Interpreters to work at a facility in North Charleston , SC. These are registry positions with our company.



Pay Rate: $41 / hour

*W2



Duties:

  • Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) for deaf or hard-of-hearing students.

  • Voice interpret signed communication into spoken English for teachers and classmates.

  • Support clear communication between students, teachers, and staff.

  • Prepare for classes by reviewing lesson plans and materials.

  • Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards.

  • Clarify misunderstandings without changing the message's meaning.

  • Assist students in understanding classroom rules and activities.

  • Collaborate with teachers and special education staff as needed.

  • Provide interpreting services during school events and meetings.

  • Support student independence and inclusion in the classroom.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum 1-year previous working experience as a ASL Educational Interpreters

  • candidates must hold a 3.5 EIPA score in order to be considered.
