Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Dental Assistant to work at a facility in Crown Point, IN.
Pay Rate: $32 / hour
Duties: Job Summary: We are looking for a Dental Assistant to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. This person will handle a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations that range in complexity and skill with plenty of room to learn and grow. All aspects of the job require an exceptional level of customer service and communication skills. Responsibilities: -Ensures a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by meticulously following prescribed procedures and protocols. -Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient. -Serves as a key communicator within the practice, providing valuable information and support to both patients and colleagues through responsive interactions. -Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments. -Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth. -Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts. -Maintains patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances. -Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory. -Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions. -Documents dental care services by charting in patient records. -Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. -Demonstrates dedication to upholding a safe and hygienic work environment by strictly adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations. -Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. -Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. -Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. -Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. -Other duties as assigned.
Job Summary:
As an EFDA, you will play a key role in enhancing the efficiency and quality of care by performing advanced clinical duties under the supervision of our dentists. You will contribute directly to the patient experience through technical skills and compassionate care. Job Responsibilities:
-Place and finish dental restorations(fillings) after the dentist prepares the tooth.
-Take accurate impressions for temporary crowns, bridges, and diagnostic models.
-Fabricate and place temporary crowns and bridges.
-Perform coronal polishing and fluoride treatments.
-Apply sealants and desensitizing agents as directed.
-Assist the dentist during procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, and endodontic treatments.
-Take and process radiographs.
-Maintain proper infection control and sterilization standards.
-Provide clear post-treatment instructions to patients.
-Charts treatment notes accurately and assist with updating patient records.
-Monitor inventory and prepare trays for procedures.
-Support front office team with patient flow and case coordination when needed.

-One (1) - two (2) years of dental assisting experience required.
-Strong knowledge of restorative procedures and materials.
-Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.

Education:
Required Education:
-Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program.

-Six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.

Required Certifications & Licensure:
-Six (6) hour x-ray training certification.
-CPR card.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
-Nitrous oxide certification; Coronal polishing certification.
